sorry i've been slacking... i've had my schedule all booked up with mr. dry heave and his biatch wife mrs. stomach bile.
so i've been taking lots and lots of baths. baths somehow help the nausea or my sanity, or both. so fav things friday is all about none other but my favorite bath soak. i've had to learn to love a new brand. my old favorite brand was calgon (that's what my grandma used, so i used it) and calgon's slogan was "calgon, take me away". so everytime i would use it, i would sing "calgon, take me away!!" in the rendition of dixie chicks "cowboy take me away". but they either stopped making it, or i just am shoppin at the wrong store. but the new kind i like is vaseline brand. i still sting my calgon song, and pretend it's the same. did i mention it's like only 2 or 3 bones? that's a steal if ya ask me...
p.s. i'm debating whether or not to take the test to see if my baby has downs syndrome. yay or nay? i've heard people all about it, and others say it's not accurate.
off to the mountains!!

ooh i'll have to try that. i love baths.
here are my thoughts on the down syndrome test...would your feelings toward your baby change if you knew it had down syndrome? i'm guessing no... is there anything you can do for you baby if it does have down syndrome? from my knowledge, no... so why would you need to take the test? what's the point in knowing?
i hope that doesn't come across rude at all. that was just was my thought process when i was given the option because i too wondered about it. and those questions are more rhetorical than personal ;)
awww baths. i don't have time to take them anymore. :(
i never got the test they told me that if i was older then it might be a good idea other wise i shouldn't worry about it so i didn't, and i agree with niki. i wouldn't care regardless if i found out before or after i would still love my baby the same.
i think its a good thing you changed brands because if you're anything like me once this pregnancy is over you wont be able to use the vaseline brand anymore without it making you nauseous! so its a good thing you didn't ruin your grandmas brand :) as far as down syndrome...just a couple weeks ago my friend who had the blood work done got her results back and a couple things were not normal so they got her all worked up that her baby may have down...they ended up doing an amniocentesis (ouch and very risky) and it came back totally normal. so she got all worked up for nothing! and NOW she has to think in the back of of her mind..."then why did the other tests show abnormalities?" "i wonder if the baby will still have something a little wrong?" when in reality that baby is going to be healthy and normal as can be so now she's wishing she'd never done it at all...if it was a more accurate test i miiiiight just to prepare myself but its just not...:)
dont get the test - it will just stress you out more because the test is not 100% accurate so you could stress your self out over nothing.
ooooo me and baths are best friends when i'm prego. thanks i'll try that one!!!
i say no on the test also. its not accurate. and if you get a positive on it, then you worry the whole time your prego. and like niki said.. there is no changing the fact if the baby has it. so don't stress your self out :)
Congratulations Katie... You are going to look DARLING pregnant and that little baby of yours is going to be DARLING. Can't wait for more updates.
I also just moved to AZ and am thrilled that you are an aesthetician. It's hard to find someone you trust. I would love to make an appointment, I have bushes for eyebrows!
I'm so sorry you have felt sicky :/ I would have to agree with everyone else. I didn't take the test... I think what niki said puts it perfectly you will love your babe unconditionally either way! You are going to be such a good mama!
Ive never tried bath beads! is that weird! sounds moisturizing tho. And yes The test is a no go. never took it, never will. A friend took it just cuz she wanted to get another ultra sound cuz her husband missed the 1st ultra sound and they said her baby was going to be downs and have all these problems and were not even sure if he would surivive the pregnancy. Well now he is around 9 months old and totally healthy..So all that time they were so stressed for nothing!
I never had the test with my babies. The ultrasound guy said you can pretty much tell in regular ultrasounds. I agree with niki. Either way, you'll love that baby, no matter what the outcome. You are young and healthy my friend!
Sorry you're feeling so shizzy. That babe of yours will be here so soon, you'll have forgotten all about the pukies and stomach bile :) Hang in there.
Hi! This might seem strange but I have been trying to locate an aesthetician I had a few years back at Salon Sublime in Mesa. I googled Meredith Urry and your blog came up. Then I saw that you are an aesthetician and Meredith is one of your friends. I am currently in school to become an aesthetician and I have been wanting to talk to her. Is she working out of a salon right now that you could point me in that direction? Sorry to high jack your blog like this!
